Losing my marbles?

From the studio wall, ...that cosmonaut now finished and the following, 'astronaut with orange hair', (Major Tom,) 90% completed.

Why not?

This subjectivity thing lets you tread into difficult, even taboo territory (when it comes to picture making). Letting go of 2 years of entirely abstract painting isn't easy. My plan had been to translate a lot of what I have painted, in the last 2 years, into print, on textile. I've envisaged developing a series of hanging, folded, composite pieces of abstract art work. I may still do so, but I have to follow the desire to work figuratively, is much stronger, in the here and now.

I'm using my exercise bike in the studio, as I've said, to virtually travel to work and back each day. However it also has another effective and useful function. I quite literally sit and pedal facing the work on the wall. "It helps!" It stops me, (a self imposed restriction of course) from touching the work until I arrive. That's 8.4 k or (5 miles ) of thinking time. Ten miles there and back each day.

I've worked it out...at the present rate of travel, I will have managed to cycle from the studio to Porto (and back), within the year. Today I passed the 115k mark.

I'm on the road...
